B2B Shared Marketing M3

Isn’t it true that you sell your marketing services to local business owners?

So, how are they learning about you? They’re almost certainly incorrect!

Do you realize how powerful an M3 may be in informing EVERY business prospect in your entire local town about you and your services? Let’s imagine you have 1,000 businesses in town that would be strong prospects for what you’re selling: sending a large 6″x11″ postcard to each of them to advertise your services would cost you roughly $550 right now.

Instead, you can pay nothing but your time and persuade two other firms to share the card with them if they want to reach out to business owners as well. That means for for $275, they can reach ONE THOUSAND businesses!

Who’s interested in forming a partnership?

There are a lot other companies who seek to achieve the same goals as you. Here are some wonderful possible partners who rely on other local businesses for their business:

  • Cleaning Services
  • Delivery of Water Coolers
  • Processing of Credit Cards Vendors
  • Office Supply & Furniture Stores IT/Network Management
  • Restaurants and catering
  • Payroll, bookkeeping, and accounting services
  • Embroidery & Silk-screen Shops
  • Shops that specialize in awards and engraving
  • Communications Companies
  • Legal and Insurance Services

With only those partners, you can easily put up three or four monthly campaigns, allowing you to repeatedly bombard your prospects with your offers in the way that only a large organization could.

Do you think your typical small business would keep this if it arrived in the mail? Yes, of course. Restaurants enjoy it because it attracts a large lunch crowd, and it allows them to take advantage of catering bargains and office parties.

The office workers and owners adore it since who doesn’t enjoy an excuse to go out to lunch? Everyone will distribute these around to their friends, making your offer STICKY.

I prefer to promote printing specials since it generates more leads… but you can promote anything you want because it will be seen again. The more of these you can send, the better; don’t stop short of bombarding them.

How to COMPLETE IT

Using a printing and shipping service like printing4supercheap.com for fulfillment is simple.

Simply provide me the list and your artwork, and I’ll take care of the rest. You can get a list of businesses using your favorite scraper or a list service like listshack.com (owned by a pretty cool marketer dude named Josh). For a tiny monthly price, he allows you to ownload an endless number of lists, and you can save $10 by using my discount code: bobross. (Yes, it is an affiliate link… to be clear, I profit from it).

If you need a designer, look for one on Fiverr or Elance, or utilize one of my vetted and recommended designers at highresponsemarketing.com/members/recommended-designers.

Costs

Depending on how many are being sent, the cost is usually approximately 50-55 cents per thousand. I can mail out as few as 250, but that becomes pricey quickly, so aim for 500 or more.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SELL THEM?

You don’t have to sell only M3s in order to run a marketing company. You can advertise anything you like on your free area, whether it’s a friend’s or relative’s business or a client’s.

It creates a revenue-sharing potential as well as a service that you may give for consulting contracts. If you’re paid $2,500 per month to manage a company’s marketing, this could be a wonderful approach to provide them results without breaking the bank.

M3s may be used for almost any business; all you have to do is team up with two other people that wish to achieve the same goal as you. Even EDDM M3s have the potential to be spectacular. They’re also very inexpensive because to the lack of shipping prep costs, the lack of a list cost, and the low cost of postage. This is the M3 I use for my renovation business; I’ve been utilizing these same partners and this same offer for years, and I utilize it every couple of months.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO CHARGE THEM FOR?

I’ll occasionally charge my M3 partners a quick $225 because it’s a dirt-cheap figure… and send to roughly 800 firms.

Always get paid up front!

Because of the decreased printing and mailing costs, I charge as little as fifteen to twenty cents for an EDDM M3 that is being distributed to general neighborhoods and locations.

Should You Increase Your Prices to Make a Profit?

You’ll eventually think to yourself, “Geez, shouldn’t I charge more and profit?” My response is that it shouldn’t be your objective. A M3’s purpose is to obtain free promotion for yourself rather than to profit from ad space. It’s far preferable to use the 9×12 method or do an M6 with more advertisements if you want to make money selling ads. To make M3 work, you should limit it to three advertising (each advertiser gets both sides, by the way) so that your recipients can see everything clearly and it isn’t diluted by other firms.

The more money you earn from partners, the more mailings you can send out.
However, how you use this system is ultimately up to you… If what you’re doing is working for you, I say keep doing it.

HOW DO YOU GET THEM?

Emailing is by far my favorite method of generating M3 Clients. I’ve discovered that cold is a problem for me.

For a variety of reasons, calling is difficult for this business, therefore we rely on email and general networking to get the job done. Make it as ‘no-brainer’ as possible by highlighting that they will be able to contact every target business in town for very little money.

Always approach them with the mentality that you’re simply another business owner looking to collaborate on a common goal. You may all benefit from each other if you work together.

You may often persuade them to bring the second partner on themselves. There’s a good chance they know another business owner who’d like to benefit as well.

I have a client who profitably sells the third slot on various campaigns we run to other owners! He does all of the selling through his connections, and I just go with the flow.
